Vastasataneen lumen peittämä puhdas, raikas, hiljainen ja rauhallinen metsä. Paikka, missä koirani saavat juosta vapaana. Paikka missä kiireettömyys saa vallan kulkijan mielessä ja tekee tilaa ympärillä olevan tilan kokemiseen; pakkasilman kirpeyden, kuulauden ja värien kirkkauden aistimiseen. Paikka missä voin rauhoittua, mielessäni ajatus; olen onnekas, kiitollinen… Talven hellittäessä hiljaisuus katoaa ja luonto täyttyy kiireisestä elämästä. Myös Villen (Kiriums Equinox) elämän täytti keväinen kiire. Juoksuisten narttujen hajut sekoittivat täysin, juuri uhmaikänsä kynnyksellä olevan nuoren uroksen pään, niin ettei se ressukka ajoittain tiennyt ollakko kreikkalaissoturi Akillee, vai vain ihan tavallinen Pikku-Ville. Banda (Bulldale`s Blancmange) ja pentuesisaret kokoontuivat kesän alussa toistamiseen. Ilokseni totesin että pentue oli säilyttänyt hyvän fyysisen kuntonsa lisäksi myös avoimuuden ja sosiaalisuuden. Heinäkuussa jouduin luopumaan iki-ihanasta Pulle-mummelistani (Bulldale`s Marquerite). Noin kahdeksan vuotta sitten meille palautunut kolme ja puoli vuotias Pulle ei voinut jäädä omaan perheeseensä, koska pieni lapsi ja koirankarvat eivät silloisten omistajien mielestä sopineet yhteen. Olen iloinen etteivät sopineet, koska en olisi koskaan oppinut tuntemaan, miten viehättävä ja kultainen koira Pulle oli. Pullen lapsenlapsi Ellu (Bulldale`s ZinZano) ja Bumba (Lisbethin Lord of The Day) saivat elokuussa seitsemän suloista palleroa. Jokainen pentu sai vastuuntuntoisen ja yhteistyöhaluisen kodin. Pentue jäi valitettavasti uroksen ensimmäiseksi ja viimeiseksi, koska Bumba (uros, joka aina tuo mieleeni alati hyväntuulisen Onni-nallen) jouduttiin myöhemmin syksyllä lopettamaan toksoplasmoosi-loisen aiheuttamien seurausten vuoksi. Lokakuun alussa Ellun pentuesisko Viivi (Bulldale`s Zerlina) ja Kevin (Maxinice Kevin Keegan) saivat kolme pullukkaa poikaa. Nämä kolmeksi muskettisoturiksi ristityt veijarit saivat alkunsa Västeråsissa. Matka Pekan kanssa oli varmasti Viiville mieleinen ja ikimuistoinen, koska vielä kuukausien jälkeenkin se väkisin pyrkii Pekan autoon. Joulukuun alussa oli Jabban (Bulldale`s Yabba Dabba Doo) vuoro saada vauvoja. Isänä pentueelle on Ville, kuukausien saatossa ”minäkuvansa” löytänyt suurikokoinen Pikku-Ville. Jabba ei selvästikkään ollut lukenut Esther Kofodin kirjaa ”Koirani saa pentuja”, vaikka olin sen jälleen esille ottanutkin. Tosin Jabban puolustukseksi voin sanoa, että jo kirjan ulkoasun järjestely, monen narttuni tuskaisan ja pitkän avautumissession seurauksena, olisi vienyt itseltänikin tovin. Missä olivat laskettu aika, ruumiin lämpötilan lasku, ruokahaluttomuus, oksentelu ja muunlainen tyhjentely, jolla viestitetään että pentuleita saattaapi olla lähiaikoina tulossa? Eihän voi olla mahdollista että ensin syödään masu täyteen ja sitten tehdään pentu ja toinen pentu, jne…:) Kaikkea mahdollista hyvää vuodelle 2008!	A clean, fresh, quiet and calm forest, covered by freshly fallen snow. A place where my dogs can run free. A place where the feeling of no hurry takes over your mind and gives room for the experience of the space around you. You sense the crispness and clearness of the cold winter air and the brightness of the colours. It’s the place where I can calm down, feeling lucky and thankful. As the winter gives way to spring, the silence disappears and nature is filled with busy life. Also Ville’s (Kiriums Equinox) life was filled by the spring rush. The scents of bitches in heat totally mixed up the mind of the young male on verge of adolescence. At times the poor boy didn’t know whether he was the Greek soldier Achilles or just a regular little Ville. Banda (Bulldale`s Blancmange) and her litter sisters got together for the second time. To my joy I noticed that the litter had maintained both its good physical health and an open mind and sociable character. In July I had to give up my oh so wonderful old girl Pulle (Bulldale`s Marquerite) The then three and a half years old Pulle was returned to us about eight years ago, as her owners felt that a small child and dog hairs weren’t a perfect match. I’m happy about their decision because otherwise I would never have got to know how charming and sweet dog Pulle was. Pulle’s grandchild Ellu (Bulldale`s ZinZano) and Bumba (Lisbethin Lord of The Day) got seven adorible toddlers in August. Each puppy got a responsible and cooperative home. Unfortunately the litter was to be his first and last one, as Bumba (a male mastiff who always reminds me of the constantly cheerful Teddy bear Onni) had to be put down due to damage caused by toxoplasmosis parasite. In early November Ellu’s litter sister Viivi (Bulldale`s Zerlina) and Kevin (Maxinice Kevin Keegan) got three sturdy sons. These rascals, known as the three musketeers, were conceived in Västerås, Sweden. The trip with Pekka was certainly a pleasant and unforgettable one for Viivi, as She even now, months later, tries hard to get into Pekka’s car. In early December it was Jabba’s (Bulldale`s Yabba Dabba Dooo) turn to make babies. The father of the litter is Ville who now a few months later has found his true self as the large little Ville. Jabba clearly hadn’t read Esther Kofod’s book on dogs having puppies although I had once again picked it up from my shelf. Still I have to defend Jabba as the appearance of my copy of the book is challenging for me too, after having been chewed by many of my bitches during many long and painful labours. But where was the expected date of delivery? Or the lowered body temperature? Or the loss of appetite? Or vomiting and other needs to empty oneself? All these signals predicting the arrival of the puppies where missing! It surely can’t be possible that you first eat your tummy full and then give birth to a puppy, and another puppy, and another…:) All the best for the year 2008!
